John Paris is a world-renowned drummer, vocalist, and producer whose electrifying career has spanned decades, performing with some of the most legendary names in music. Best known as the powerhouse drummer for the iconic band Earth, Wind & Fire, John’s rhythmic precision, soulful energy, and unparalleled versatility have solidified him as a cornerstone in genres ranging from funk and soul to pop and smooth jazz.


Born in Trenton, New Jersey, and raised in a musically gifted family, John’s journey took a transformative turn when he moved to the West Coast. Immersing himself in the vibrant music scenes of San Francisco and Oakland, it wasn’t long before his extraordinary talent captured the attention of industry legends.

This led to collaborations with iconic artists like Sheila E., Patti LaBelle, Bob Dylan, Whitney Houston, James Ingram, and

George Duke.


A pivotal moment in John’s illustrious career came when he joined Earth, Wind & Fire as their drummer. With unmatched speed and precision, he quickly became an integral part of the band’s legendary sound, captivating audiences around the world on global tours and delivering unforgettable performances at some of the most prestigious venues.


Beyond the stage, John is a sought-after session drummer, songwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles. His
contributions to records, films, and television showcase his vast musical expertise and adaptability. Collaborating with icons such as Natalie Cole, Donna Summer, and The Dazz Band, John has consistently proven his ability to excel in any musical style, always leaving his unmistakable mark.


As the co-founder of Back 2 Basics, alongside his longtime collaborator Eddie M., John brings his passion for music to life, blending authenticity and innovation into every track. Whether driving the rhythm on stage or crafting music in the studio, John Paris continues to inspire, connect, and elevate the art form. From
groundbreaking collaborations to creating his own legacy, John Paris stands as a true master of his craft, leaving an indelible imprint on the music industry and cementing his place among the greats.
