Joe Archie - Music Production


Joe Archie is a Grammy Award-winning, Billboard-charting producer from Sacramento, California. He won a Grammy, Billboard, Gold, and Platinum plaques for his contributions to Smokie Norful's project "Nothing Without You", where he co-produced the tracks "Life's Not Promised" and "I Need You Now". Being a P.K. (preacher's kid) with strong church roots, Joe began learning to play multiple instruments, often "on the fly". Joe plays piano, drums, bass, and guitar, which has equipped him to begin playing/touring at the age of 17. He has also worked with such artists as Perfect Gentlemen, El DeBarge, Wayman Tisdale, Rene Moore, Meshell N'Degeocello, Dr. Cornell West, Smokie Norful, Virtue, Twinkie Clark, James Moore, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Walter and Edwin Hawkins, and Chuckii Booker.
As an arranger and producer, Joe has worked with Dwele, producing on his hit single “Cheatin” from the "Sketches of A Man" project. Additionally, he’s worked with Snoop Dogg as a string arranger on a track called "Nipsy Blue". He contributed as a string arranger for two of rapper T.I.’s albums, "Libra" - "Respect the Code" and "Dime Trap", on the track "Be There". Other notable works include “Still” by Jessica Jolia, “Amazing” by Latice Crawford, and “Stronger Still” by Lin Rountree. In the gospel genre, Joe was a co-producer for the group Virtue on their project Virtuosity and a co-songwriter for gospel group The Tommies' song entitled "Real", for which he received his very first Gold and Platinum plaques.
Joe was invited to compose nine episodes with Meshell N'Degeocello for the Logo Channel (a substation of VH1) show "Noah's Arc" - Season 1. He co-produced two songs and was a musician on eight songs for “Sketches Of My Culture” and “Never Forget: A Journey Of Revelations” by Dr. Cornel West.
Joe has produced instrumentals for numerous commercials, including McDonald's, Burger King, Ford, BET, MTV, The Word Network, Comcast, and Sirius XM. He also produced a song, "Yes, God is Real", for the stageplay with the same name by Donald Welch. Additionally, Joe produced original music for films, including The Divorce - "Back to Me" by Andrea Jones, Just A Dream - "How Long Is Forever" by Andrea Jones, and Baby Girl - "Through A Child's Eyes" by Andrea Jones. Most recently, Joe won Best Original Song at the Cannes World Film Festival for "Through A Child's Eyes" by Andrea Jones, which he produced as well and became the principal composer for the film. The song is featured in the short film (ending credits) called “BabyGirl”, which will air on the ALLBLK network in 2023. Joe is a featured musician on the upcoming release for Chuckii Booker called "Soul Trilogy IV", as well as the principal keyboardist for Chuckii Booker's Band University 2.0.
When it comes to advocacy, Joe serves on the Music and Digital Media Arts Commission at the California Department of Education, where they ensure that music and arts stay in the schools. He helped write and facilitate the curriculum for digital arts and media after-school programs.
